How to be a vegan for cheap?

One of the biggest myths around a vegan diet is that it’s expensive. Some people think that when you want to follow a plant-based diet, you have to buy all kinds of fancy and super overpriced meat alternatives and snacks. While indeed, most pre-packaged and processed vegan foods are more expensive than their non-vegan counterparts, perfectly stackable unprocessed foods such as rice, beans and potatoes belong to the world's cheapest foods.

They’re not a meal yet, though. Making sure your eating pattern fits both your budget, your nutritional needs and your ethical and/or environmental diet preferences requires time and effort. And that’s where the comparison comes in.
