How do I use/prepare Queal Steady?

1. Mix together ~350ml water with 1/3rd bag of Steady.
2. Shake (free shaker provided with first order) or blend.
3. Enjoy

(optional) Let it sit in the refrigerator for 1 hour or more for the best taste.

How long can I store Queal? (what is the BBD?)

The Best-Before date is 12 months*, but Queal should last at least 24 months when unopened and stored in a cool, dark, and dry place.

If the bag is opened in a dry place, the best-before date doesn’t change. Just be sure to close the bag again properly!

If mixed with water, queal is good for several hours at room temperature and for a day and a half in the fridge.

*This is from the production date. We try our best to ship first-in-first-out (FIFO), but sometimes, you may receive bags with a short best-before date (BBD). If you’re unable to consume the bags in time, please contact us.

Is there sulfur in Queal?

Yes, there is enough sulfur in Queal.

Both the oats and soy flour contain sulfur, more than enough to sustain your body.
It is not on our nutrient list, as the EFSA does not have a recommendation for it.

Is there chromium in Queal?

We’ve added 35μg of Chromium to Queal.

The EFSA doesn’t have a recommended amount (see for more discussion here).

The FDA recommends it, and because we also sell in the US (and agree that it should be added), we’ve added it (see more info here and here).

What type of soy flour do you use?

We use full-fat soy flour, toasted.

You can find all the ingredients and the back labels on the ingredients page.

Is Queal good for the environment?

Compared to eating a meat-based diet, Queal is much more sustainable.

Most ingredients are sourced in The Netherlands or neighbouring countries.

In your personal dashboard, you can see how you are positively impacting the environment.

Health.

Is Queal vegetarian or vegan?

All products are vegetarian (Steady Standard & Athletic), or completely vegan (Steady Vegan, Ready, Go, Flow).

We use an Undenatured Whey Protein Concentrate for Steady Standard / Athletic, which is derived as a by-product of the cheese-making process.

We use vegan proteins like rice and pea protein for our Steady Vegan, Ready, and Go bars.

What allergens are in Queal Steady?

Gluten, Soy, Egg*, Dairy, Lactose**

*Only possible trace amounts; these aren’t ingredients of Queal (but some components are processed in the same factory where these sorts of products are also processed).

**Only a relatively small amount is present in our Whey Protein. We use Whey Protein Concentrate in Queal. The amount of lactose in there is subject to slight variation but small enough that it doesn’t pose a problem to mildly sensitive lactose-intolerant people (below 4%). Especially in combination with a lactase tablet. Note that we use concentrate, not isolate. Concentrate has low levels of lactose. Probably fine for those with a mild lactose intolerance. Isolate would be virtually lactose-free, but we don’t use that.

You can find all the ingredients and the back labels on the ingredients page.

How is your stool on Queal?

Normal. Albeit small in quantity.

Queal contains a healthy amount of fibres, and therefore, no changes in stool are experienced.

As Queal is extremely efficient in its nutrients vs. weight ratio, you eat less volume overall and excrete less.

What are the short-term effects?

See how Queal is having an impact on you personally in your personal dashboard.

Is Queal GMO-free?

There are no genetically modified organism (GMO) foods in Queal.

What about Queal and diabetes?

Queal has a GI of about 50.

Due to the homogenous nature and easy-to-track glycemic effect, Queal is ideal to manage your diabetes. We have many customers who use Queal for this reason. However, please talk to your physician before trying Queal!

Is Queal produced safely?

Our production- and fulfilment centres have all the necessary certificates to adhere to EU health and food safety regulations.

They are audited often, and always receive top marks.

Certificates include BRC and IFS, which are audited by DNV Business Assurance.
The Dutch Food Safety Authority (NVWA) also performs routine checks regularly.

Are there high levels of heavy metals in Queal?

All our ingredients are tested to adhere to Regulations (EG) nr. 1881/2006 of the commission of 19/12/2006, concerning the maximum levels of heavy metal contaminants in food, as well as the updates in (EG) nr 1126/2007, (EG) nr 565/2008, (EG) nr 629/2008, (EG) nr 105/2010, and (EG) nr 165/2010.
